About Us

Ark Vets have been caring for pets since 1999 when we opened our first surgery in Mobberley before later expanding into Northwich in 2001.

Both practices are self-contained, well equipped and committed to modern veterinary practice. We provide services for small animals, including exotics, and offer the highest level of veterinary care in a pleasant and friendly environment, providing quality treatment at sensible prices. You may see us out and about as the majority of our staff are local and have lived/worked in the area for many years – come and say hello!

One of our slogans is ‘In the community, for the community’ and as a result we work closely with local animal charities and societies.

Our staff will often attend village fetes and events to spread the word about pet care in the local community. We also take time to visit schools to engage with children about the work that we do – especially during the veterinary/animal week in primary schools.

We provide the veterinary cover for many local pet shows and have also been known to undertake some light-hearted judging! All of our staff live locally and help with such events which allows us to promote our profession and help our community. If you want one of our vets to talk to your group or attend your school please get in touch.

Our Commitment to Development & Training

At Ark we regularly host trainee vets at our surgeries so that they can gain vital practical experience in hands on practice – as well as allowing our vets to supplement their own training.

We’re also proud to be a registered training practice for veterinary nurses and can undertake all stages of the nursing training program with a history of excellent results.

Many of our nurses are highly qualified clinical coaches and transfer their enthusiasm for their profession into their teaching and supervision.

Here at Ark we are fortunate to have a large team of dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified trainee nurses. We offer placements for people seeking work experience either for school or those wishing to move into the profession. At present we have filled all our training positions for nurses but places may become available in the future, it is possible for you to leave your details on file with us so we can contact you if an opportunity arises or keep an eye out on our vacancies page.

After qualification, it is a professional requirement for our vets and nurses to regularly attend ‘Continuing Professional Development’ courses. This allows them to advance their clinical skills and stay up-to-date with the latest methods and practices.

If you need advice on how to become a veterinary surgeon or nurse – our staff will be happy to talk to you.
